Jersey Youth Choir shines with the Jersey Chamber Orchestra!

Violinist Chloe Hanslip

An eager audience at the Methodist Church saw an incredible evening of classical music, featuring the world-renowned violinist Classical BRIT winner Chloë Hanslip and the Jersey Chamber Orchestra playing the Bruch Violin Concerto. With her first debut at the BBC Proms at 14, Chloë Hanslip established herself as an artist of distinction, and recorded the Bruch as a child prodigy at the age of 13 on Warner Classics. Her lyrical tone and dramatic fiery approach to the last movement of the Bruch was met with great acclaim.

Jersey Youth Choir and the Jersey Chamber Orchestra

This came after an incredibly upbeat and joyful overture by Danish composer Kahlua to the Opera the Elf Hill. The Jersey Youth Choir shone singing Mendelssohn and Brahms. Great credit goes to John Bowley and Nicki Kennedy for their coaching.

The second half saw Brahms’s great 1st Symphony end the concert with a flourish. Led brilliantly by conductor Eamonn Dougan it was a night to remember and bravo to all the players for a very fine performance.
