Jersey Chamber Orchestra

Established by Music in Action in October 2008, the Jersey Chamber Orchestra performs at least three concerts each year.  The premise is to perform technically challenging and exciting programmes not otherwise heard in Jersey. 

The orchestra is led by Anna Smith who plays with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.  

The orchestra is made up of a mixture of local artists and overseas professionals. Bursary places are offered for up to 4 young musicians to perform in each concert.

The orchestra has performed with many established soloists including Sir James Galway, Nicola Benedetti, Leonard Elschenbroich, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Lawrence Power, Alison Balsom.  It has also worked with such singers as Elizabeth Watts, Sophie Bevan, Lawrence Zazzo, Victoria Simmonds and Kate Royal.
