MIYAP - Young Artists 2022-23

 

Music in Action launched the Young Artists programme in 2022-2023. Each Young Artist will be supported with a holistic programme designed to support their needs over the course of the year. This will vary from financial support to performance opportunities and creating way for them to develop. The application process for Music in Action’s 2023-24 closes in November 2023.

 
 

Hamish Brodie

Hamish has been selected to study at the prestigious BRIT school in London. Music in Action is delighted to be supporting Hamish with the cost of his music lessons on singing and piano in 2022-23.

Hamish is 16 years old and has studied at Hautlieu School in Jersey while taking lessons with Claire Boleat at the Jersey Academy of Music.

 

Lylis O’Hara

Lylis Opera Singer, Lylis O’Hara, was raised in the idyllic isle of Jersey. Lylis is a scholar at the internationally acclaimed Royal College of Music as the resident lyric soprano in its Opera Studio.

She began her musical education at Chetham’s School of Music, having studied at Beaulieu Convent School. Music in Action is delighted to support Lylis in gaining performance experience including performing ‘Four Shakespeare Songs’ by Cecilia McDowall with the Jersey Chamber Orchestra in October 2022.
