2023 - Percussion Workshops in Schools

In 2023 Music in Action were delighted to bring Janet Fulton from the Manchester Camerata to provide a “Jersey Sings” percussion workshop for school classes.  Together the children and Janet composed a song about the environment which will be sung at Jersey Sings 2023.

2021-22 Percussion Workshops

Music in Action were delighted to bring Andrea Vogler from the Royal Northern and Cheethams School of Music to provide a “Jersey Sings” percussion workshop for school classes.  

Sponsored by Zedra all children were provided with a free bucket and spade.   

These lively workshops focused on pulse and rhythm using phonetics and body percussion. Expect plenty of musical fun and games, co-ordination challenges, multi-layered rhythms and music from around the world.

Workshops took place on 2nd to 4th Nov 2021 and 18th to 20th Jan 2022 and lasted 30 mins to 60 mins. It was aimed at Key Stage 2 and the start of Key Stage 3. Many of the schools performed this piece at Jersey Sings Across the Bay 2022.
