Music in Action invites you to a special lunchtime concert with with the Jersey Chamber Orchestra string ensemble. In a concert including movements from Bruch’s classic concerto, and the finale of Brahm’s Symphony No 1, see Music in Action’s winners of the Young Artist awards in 2024 and 2023 - Omara Silvester and Lylis O’Hara alongside the talents of Grainville School.
Celebrate Jersey's Young Artist 2024 - Omara Silvester with uplifting music, songs and a string quartet! This relaxed concert suitable for children and adults will include beautiful songs such as ''Ave Maria'' by Caccini and ''Walking in the Air - The Dance of the Snowmen'' by Howard Blake.
Suitable for children of all ages to attend, enjoy skills of our young local talents as they showcase their musical abilities. They will be accompanied by a string quartet composed by the leaders of the Jersey Chamber Orchestra, who will add their own touch of brilliance to the performance.
Lylis O’ Hara - Young Artist 2023
The concert showcases the talent of Lylis O'Hara - the Music in Action Young Artist in 2023 after finishing her post graduate studies on the Royal College of Music's famous opera course. Lylis will be singing Mozart, Bellini and Strauss.
Attendees will hear the finale from Brahms First Symphony and the slow movement of the Bruch Violin Concerto - pieces being played in the evening concert.
Grainville - Bucket and Spade Orchestra
Finally enjoy the joy of Grainville School's Bucket and Spade Orchestra preparing for Jersey SIngs with a short virtuoso performance.
Get ready for a musical rollercoaster that spans across different times and emotions. We're taking you from the classic beauty of Schubert to the stillness of the Ave Maria by Caccini, with stops in between for Strauss and Mozart.
It is a relaxed concert and suitable for children to attend.
