What are your thoughts about music and where we are now?
It’s difficult to fathom that it is now over a year since Jersey Chamber Orchestra last performed together, in a memorable concert which included Rachmaninoff’s timeless 2nd piano concerto. When will we next be able to join together, to listen and breathe as one and experience the unique elation that music brings to performers and audience? We still don’t know and the enforced silence is difficult for us all to bear.
What is coming next?
JCO and Music in Action are looking ahead to when we can indeed return to live performance, with our audience. At our last concert in January 2020, I spoke briefly from the stage and asked that you, the audience, join us on our musical journey, not just on that evening, but in the concerts to come. I asked that you trust us, take a risk and come to hear and support the orchestra, even if some works in the programme are unknown to you.
We are making exciting plans, for the orchestra and for the education work which is at the heart of Music in Action, so I repeat that plea now. More than anything, we want to return to playing for you, the Jersey audience. When you receive word of the next JCO performance, don’t hesitate - book your tickets and tell your friends. Come and be part of the journey. We can’t wait to see you there.
