Events - cultural experiences for our community

Music in Action brings cultural experiences to communities providing free tickets to those who can’t afford them and opportunities for children to be educated by the artists preforming

By attending Music in Action concerts, you are directly supporting the Outreach Programme and helping us to continue our visits to schools.

Social Access Bursaries for children

Music in Action’s social access scheme for at Janvrin School showed that music could help children’s wellbeing.

The reports by headmaster Iain George said that all the children who took part showed developments in wellbeing, concentration powers or self esteem.

Music in Action provided 72 bursaries for children at Janvrin School and D’Auvergne School in 2024. Of these, 32 young pupils started learning an instrument with 1-1 lessons at D’Auvergne school in May 2024. Music in Action has now been seeking funding to go into Rouge Bouillon and is looking at a fourth.

1500 children inspired by Music in Action’s Outreach Programme

The sixteenth Liberation International Music Festival marks the largest event organised by the charity Music in Action.  Alongside the public events open to 2000 festival attendees, 28 educational masterclasses and school workshops with over 1500 children benefiting from the festival have taken place.
Education and inspiring islanders are at the forefront of the aims of the charity Music in Action. All the major stars coming to Jersey are asked to take part in educational masterclasses or workshops.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT

Music in Action are sending out a message of hope to children, schools and residents in care homes. Our current main initiatives are concerts to boost spirits for those in long term care in residential care homes, and the education of children through Jersey Sings Across the Bay.

We are in urgent need of donations in order to continue our important community outreach initiatives. Thank you to those who have already donated.
